What we do

Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane has committed to investing money seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) 2002 back into local communities under his Proceeds of Crime Community Fund to send a clear message to criminals that crime doesn’t pay.

The Commissioner believes that by ceasing criminals' assets and revinesting the proceeds into our communities, we can help prevent further offences and increase community safety.

The Commissioner makes decisions on where the fund can be used most effectively to address community needs, whilst supporting the aims within the Police and Crime Plan and Cheshire Constabulary’s budget priorities for each financial year.

The Proceeds of Crime Community Fund is split into two separate pots of money:

  • Community Police Fund – PCSOs and Chief Inspectors bid to this fund directly to work on community safety projects with local residents
  • Safer Communities Fund – members of the community can bid directly to this fund for initiatives that prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.
